The deadline has a pulse
The 11th Hour Audio Challenge
Every October, creators around the world come together to write, record and finish brand-new horror audio before the month runs out.
Collaboration over competition
The production is the result. The community is the point.
The Challenge was built to break down the walls between companies, disciplines and experience levels. Writers meet directors. Actors find producers. Sound designers discover stories they would never have found on their own. Veterans return because the deadline creates energy, but they stay because the event creates relationships.
This is not an invitation to polish an old script or dust off an unfinished show. The spirit of the event is to make something new, together, in the compressed creative space of October.
Form a team
Bring a company, build a new group or meet collaborators through the Challenge community.
Make new horror
Create an original audio production during the official production window.
Finish the work
The deadline is part of the art. Scope honestly, solve problems and get the story over the line.
Share the result
Completed productions are celebrated, released and carried forward as part of the Challenge archive.
The rhythm of October
A month built around momentum.
Gather
Introduce yourself, find collaborators, choose a workable idea and decide who owns each part of the production.
Build
Write, cast and record quickly. Make decisions that protect the deadline instead of chasing an impossible version of perfect.
Finish
Edit, design, score and mix. Ask for help early. Leave enough time to listen all the way through before delivery.
Release
Submit the completed work, celebrate what everyone made and carry the new relationships into whatever comes next.
